Position Overview
The Marketing Manager is a strategic and creative leader responsible for executing UWDOR’s integrated marketing and communications plan. This role focuses on driving donor acquisition, enhancing brand awareness, and managing day-to-day marketing operations. The ideal candidate is a data-driven storyteller who can manage multiple projects, from the annual workplace campaign to major community initiatives, with precision and passion.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign & Project Management
- Strategic Execution: Lead the development and rollout of marketing collateral for annual campaigns, ensuring all materials (print and digital) resonate with both corporate partners and individual donors.
- Content Strategy: Oversee the editorial calendar to ensure a cohesive voice across the website, email newsletters (Constant Contact), and annual reports.
- Advertising: Manage local media relationships and coordinate paid advertising efforts (print, radio, and digital) to maximize community reach.
Impact Storytelling & Brand Identity
- Brand Authority: Act as the primary contact for United Way Worldwide branding, ensuring all sub-brands and initiatives are visually and tonally aligned.
- Public Relations: Draft press releases, coordinate media interviews, and maintain a robust media contact list to highlight UWDOR’s impact in Dutchess and Orange counties.
- Video & Multimedia: Lead the production of high-impact video content for events and digital campaigns, coordinating with external vendors or internal staff as needed.
Digital Strategy & Analytics
- Website Oversight: Manage UWDOR’s website content (OneEach), ensuring information is current, SEO-optimized, and user-friendly for donors and those seeking help.
- Data Analysis: Utilize Google Analytics and social media insights to measure campaign ROI and provide quarterly reports to the Director of Marketing.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in marketing or communications; nonprofit experience in the Hudson Valley is highly preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion and provide guidance to junior staff or interns.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Experience with CRM systems is a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional public speaking and professional writing skills; ability to represent UWDOR at community events and meetings.

Position Overview
United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region is seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded Social Media & Events Marketing Coordinator. This part-time role is responsible for amplifying UWDOR’s mission through digital storytelling and supporting the strategic execution of community-wide events. The ideal candidate is a savvy communicator who can translate complex community impact data into engaging content that inspires donors, volunteers, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Content Creation
- Social Media Management: Maintain a consistent and engaging presence across all social media channels.
- Storytelling: Collect and share impact stories from residents, nonprofit partners, and community programs to showcase the “Live United” mission.
- Graphic Design: Create high-quality visual content (graphics, short-form videos/Reels, and flyers) using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Metric & Analytics: Track and report on digital engagement metrics to refine strategy and increase reach.
Event Marketing & Support
- Promotion: Develop and execute marketing timelines for signature events, including the Celebration of Service, Women United Luncheon, Pull the Tank, and the workplace campaign kickoff.
- Logistics Support: Assist with on-site event coordination, including managing live social media coverage, registration, and sponsor recognition.
- Collateral Production: Coordinate the design and distribution of event-specific materials, including invitations, programs, and signage.
Brand & Community Engagement
- Brand Stewardship: Ensure all communications adhere to United Way Worldwide branding guidelines.
- Outreach: Monitor community groups and partner pages to foster digital engagement and represent UWDOR professionally and empathetically.
Qualifications

Position Overview
United Way of the Dutchess-Orange’s mission is to support the health, education, and the financial stability of every person in our community. The proposed VISTA project will build, enhance and expand UWDOR’s efforts to increase the number of individuals and families with improved access to nutritious food.
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service program dedicated to alleviating poverty in the United States. Founded in 1965 and incorporated into the AmeriCorps network in 1993, it places full-time members with nonprofits and public agencies to build their capacity to address local poverty-related challenges. The program emphasizes sustainable solutions and community empowerment through service and collaboration.
The VISTA project will seek to:
- Increase community awareness and support for the program's objectives through outreach.
- Recruit, train, and manage corporate and community volunteers to enhance food access initiatives.
- Expand the Volunteer Portal's presence in the community.
- Expand and strengthen partnerships and networks with organizations that share similar goals.
Overview of Responsibilities:
This VISTA member will contribute to the project's goals by performing activities that will enhance and develop United Way's Food Security Project. Such tasks will include:
- Attend community coalition meetings and identify best practices.
- Research/review resource development strategies and systems for food programs at UWDOR and partners.
- Other activities that will increase organizational capabilities to remove economic barriers for individuals and families over the course of the year.

This intern will work within the Community Impact Department to assist with the administrative tasks, community outreach and engagement, and assist with United Way Days of Caring (Volunteer Events) and Days of Sharing (In-Kind Donation Program).

- Responsible for assisting in coordinating United Way’s volunteer events throughout the semester.
- Attending virtual community outreach events and advocating the work of United Way to the community.
- Assisting the community impact staff with administrative tasks including but not limited to drafting letters of support, drafting thank you letters, data entry, phone calls, and file upkeep.
- Supporting the Days of Sharing In-Kind Donation Program by picking up donations, researching potential new retail partners, recruiting new attendees and managing the onsite donation center.
- Attend United Way virtual signature events throughout the semester and support with event planning.
